Lil' Muddy

Good afternoon from Concan Texas! As you can see from the photo, we had a small rise this morning of about 6 feet. I took this picture from the second crossing at about 10 a.m. It won't be a good idea to be on the River today, but barring any more rainfall upriver, it should be cleared up and safe again tomorrow. So, let the River do its thing while yall play volleyball, pitch horseshoes, BBQ, shop at Frio's Dry Fifty, or whatever else entertains you. The crossing at TX 127 is open at this time, just in case you're headin our way today. Lunch break is over, so gotta get back to work.

Thanks for keeping track of the Frio River!!! It is one of my favorite places to visit, but I only seem to get there in the winter so it is awesome to see the trees leafed out and the river full and running! Thanks again!

Your updates to the river conditions are outstanding. Not only are you are providing potential travelers info about tubin' the Frio, but the visible pictures tell the whole story! Outstanding stuff. I'll be in Concan for a week starting this saturday. I'm so ready for some fun after last years low water season. Rain is the giver of life, but I hope Mother Nature gives us a break here soon. Great blog FRIOMAN! I'll be passing your blog around to as Frio lovers as I can.

The Frioman is awesome. My native Texan family was spawned from Uvalde and we have been going down here since the 30's and we have a huge reunion this year starting 7-6-07 so we are really keeping an eye on the river. The USGS real time website is great for gage height and cubic feet per second; however, your pictures and spot on comments are just fantastic. Keep up the good work, my huge family is more than impressed. Thank you Thank you!

Hey, when the river is a little high...stop for a freshly made pie at Con Can Pies on Countu Rd. 348, or as some call it River Road.
